This is a little miniature bowl in Padauk wood. Perfect for keeping your really tiny little items or as decoration in a miniature set. At under 2″ wide, it is just a little larger than a half dollar.
African Padauk’s heartwood color can vary, ranging from a pale pinkish orange to a deep brownish red. Most pieces tend to start reddish orange when freshly cut, darkening substantially over time to a reddish/purplish brown
Approx. 1.7″ wide by .25″ tall
The hand selected pieces for this pen were turned by Jack D. Ciallella on a lathe. They were sanded through several grits of sandpaper until perfectly smooth. The wood is then finished with boiled linseed oil, friction polish and wax, being buffed to a satin gloss.
The majority of this item was made, assembled and finished by hand.
Natural materials and individual artists means a truly one-of-a-kind work of art.
