This classic slimline pen was created using the plated 24K gold hardware. The clip is painted black and finished in a very hard epoxy to resist scratching. This wood has yellow and pinks waves with an overly orange overtone to the whole pen. Some dark red streaking as well.
White Ash has excellent shock resistance, and it is one of the most commonly used hardwoods for tool handles in North America—particularly in shovels and hammers where toughness and impact resistance is important. This wood comes out very light in color, with nice, but very subtle markings.
The hand selected pieces for this pen were turned by Jack D. Ciallella on a lathe. They were sanded through several grits of sandpaper until perfectly smooth. The wood is then finished with boiled linseed oil, friction polish and wax, being buffed to a satin gloss.
