Cousin to the classic slimline pen, the trimline has clean lines, an attractive clip and wide multi-beaded center band, which provide an attractive trim profile and design. Lightweight and comfortable in hand. Smaller than the larger engraved or manhattan pens.
One of today’s most prized lumbers for its outstanding color and figure; yet also one of the most infamous for its difficulty in shaping. Cocobolo can be seen in a kaleidoscope of different colors, ranging from yellow, orange, red, and shades of brown with streaks of black or purple. Sapwood is typically a very pale yellow. Colors are lighter when freshly sanded/cut, and darken with age.
The hand selected pieces for this pen were turned by Jack D. Ciallella on a lathe. They were sanded through a dozen grits of sandpaper until perfectly smooth. Then buffed with various compounds until shining beautifully.
